During her first 25 years as a nurse, Margaret Barnes worked in hospital, nursing home and home care settings. She has cared for patients in ICU, ER, OB/GYN, various med-surg units and pediatrics. She has served as a staff educator and in supervisory roles including as a DON of a nursing home. She left full-time practice in the clinical setting in June 2009 to accept a position teaching full time for IWU. To keep her hand in the clinical setting, she volunteers 5 hours/week at a homeless clinic in Covington, KY.
