Ella Bush; MS, PhD ella.bush@agsfaculty.indwes.edu

Biography

Ella Bush was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, and reared by her grandparents, who, though they had no formal education, were determined that she would be a college graduate. From her initial entry into elementary school, the goal was set. Fourteen years later, she graduated with a degree in secondary education and moved to Gary, Indiana. Serving as a teacher of English and social studies for several years in Gary, Ella felt called to expand her service and pursued certification in educational administration, resulting in her becoming a high school principal and later the executive director of secondary education for the Gary Schools. Her love for education led her to several community service initiatives where she teaches communication and life skills. A member of First Baptist Church, Ella leads an outreach ministry (Images of Hope) and serves as a member of the C.B. Johnson Missionary Society.
