Dr. Susan Fisher is a professor of Elementary Education in the School of Teacher Education. She joined the faculty of Indiana Wesleyan Univeristy in 1990. Prior to coming to IWU, she was a professor and reading specialist at Ball State University. Her areas of expertise are early childhood and literacy. Dr. Fisher's professional background includes teaching students from preschool through middle school. She also contributed to the development of the Master of Education at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Currently Dr. Fisher is active in researching and creating strategies designed to enable parents to encourage the development of literacy skills in their children through daily life experiences. These skills also include strategies that parents can use to aid children of all ages with homework. She has presented in school-sponsored seminars throughout the East Central Indiana area.
