Biography
Dr. Schwarte is an IWU alumnus. After graduating, he studied the effects of microgravity on jellyfish with the Second International Microgravity Laboratory (IML-2) aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. He completed his doctoral work at EVMS and ODU, where he investigated the role of the NO/cGMP pathway in agrin signaling at the neuromuscular junction. For his postdoc studies at WFU, he investigated the role of COX-1 dependent PGE2 production in postoperative pain.
