Biography

Dr. Rhetts was born and raised in Grant County, Indiana. He attended Indiana University for all three of his degrees. He was in the first graduating class of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He became a Christian in 1989. Eventually, he worked for a missions organization focusing on compliance and deferred giving. He felt led again by the Lord to enter full-time teaching at the university level which is what he is doing now.

Interests

Dr. Rhetts has participated in numerous legal endeavors. In particular, he participated in the preparation and submission of an Internal Revenue Service Letter Rulings concerning charitable trusts. Also, he has guided students through a real nonprofit entity formation and application for IRC 501(c)(3), which was successful. His greatest interest is in researching the need for advanced (university) level training in Christian nonprofit management settings.
