Biography

Dr. Mallison was born on May 24, 1958, in Hastings, Michigan. He married Norma Mallison, and they have four children — Robert III, Lindsay Leck (married to Joe), Lauren, and Lycia Taylor (married to Josh). They also have four grandchildren. After graduating from Marion College, and then from Purdue, Dr. Mallison spent 20 years as an actuary. In 2003, he returned to academia to complete his Ph.D. in Mathematics.

Interests

Dr. Mallison is still involved in the actuarial profession. He has also been one of the primary contributors in the development of a Minor in Actuarial Science for Math majors who wish to pursue an actuarial career.
