Why Study Communication at Indiana Wesleyan University?
The Division of Communication and Theatre majors in Communication Studies, Convergent Journalism, Media Communication, Public Relations and Theatre bring together theory and practice while allowing you to gain out-of-classroom, practical and professional experience working alongside faculty and staff mentors and peers — all grounded in a Christian mission to impact culture through telling stories of people and organizations.
You can join our students in work on WIWU-TV, WIWU-FM, The Sojourn (print and online), theater productions, the Public Relations Student Society of America (which prepares them to land prestigious internships at places such as ESPN, the American Red Cross, and Vera Bradley), domestic and international off-campus study assignments (e.g., Focus on the Family, the Los Angeles Film Studies Center, and Italy study abroad), and full-time professional positions and graduate school (e.g., Conrad Indianapolis, Biomet, and Northwestern University).
Combining faculty mentors who have achieved the highest distinctions in professional and academic life; curriculum that provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge and application of skills; and para-curricular operations where you can gain practical experience in online and print journalism, television, radio, public relations and theater, the IWU Division of Communication and Theatre is dedicated to developing Christ-centered communicators grounded in theory, scholarship and professional skills who give voice to stories that impact culture.
We invite you to explore our programs on these pages, call or email us, and visit our campus and meet with our professors and students!
