Interior design affords the opportunity to create aesthetically pleasing environments for clients in the context of health, safety, welfare and the irreplaceable interaction of the designer-to-client relationship. The educational experience for the IWU interior design student entails building a solid foundation of design skills (knowledge of structure and technology) and creative conceptual understanding with a Christian philosophy of integrity and discipline.
Our students have many opportunities to interact with design professionals in the field as they attend conferences and visit firms to enhance their educational experience. Our program is flexible enough that students have the opportunity to specialize in distinct areas of interior design.
Our alumni are working in design-related positions and gaining more education at the graduate level around the Midwest and beyond. Our goal is to prepare our students to graduate as interior designers with Christ-like character.
