From its founding in 1920, Indiana Wesleyan
University has been approved by the Indiana State Department
of Public Instruction to offer teacher education programs.
IWU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission* and is a member of the North Central Association.
The offering of the Master of Arts in ministerial education and the Master of Science in community health nursing were approved by the NCA in 1979.
IWU has received NCA focus visits in 1981, 1982, 1987, 1998, 1999 and 2003. The most recent visit centered on approving IWU's new Ed.D. degree in organizational leadership.
